This site is intended to be a one-stop shop to inform members about the class action lawsuits filed against tobacco companies in Quebec, which led to a judgment of nearly $14 billion by the Quebec Court of Appeal on March 1er 2019.

The Plan of Arrangement, which includes compensation for class members in the Quebec class actions, will be submitted to a vote of creditors on December 12, 2024.
If the creditors’ vote is favourable, the Plan of Arrangement will be presented to the Ontario Superior Court on January 29, 30 and 31, 2025, to decide whether to approve it.
Finally, if the Plan is approved by the Court, it will then be implemented and the claims process can begin.
You don’t have to do anything at this stage. The claim period has not started yet, and it is class counsel who will vote on December 12.
